My Podcast Goes Video

Great news! My podcast has gone video!

A few weeks ago I took the decision to release some of my podcast episodes as videos on YouTube. Naturally, only those episodes where I have permission both to capture and to share the content.

There are two primary reasons for me to start doing this. First, so my interviews can also be accessible to those who are non-auditory. It has been bothering me for some time that people who live with hearing loss are unable to engage with my show since it is available only as an audio format. Through the videos, I hope to be able to include those who read lips and who make use of captions which YouTube provides live.

Secondly, I know that not everyone enjoys listening to podcasts and hope they may prefer watching the interviews. I have been engaging with other podcasts on YouTube and find it a convenient way to do so. My primary channel for the show will remain the podcast, yet I’m very happy to offer people a choice on how they wish to engage with it.

So far, I only have a few episodes of my show on YouTube but will continue to grow these as I record more interviews with video. For now, my podcasts with Lethabo Shawn Segudla, Notukela Makohliso and Jennifer Webster are there, and I hope to add my interview with Adrijana Prokopenko soon, if I haven’t done so by the time this article comes out.

All the video shows can be found on my YouTube channel, on a playlist called A Different Way of Seeing Podcast.
